Right now? Nothing — as long as your appointment is on or before July 31, 2026. Grand opening special while I build my client base. Weekend slots are fully booked through July 31; if you're in Kenner, Metairie, or nearby New Orleans neighborhoods, weekday evening appointments are still open.
The whole appointment usually takes 2-3 hours. The first 10-15 minutes are spent assessing the piano and getting it ready for tuning. A fine tuning takes 60-90 minutes. If it's been a while since the piano's last tuning, it may need a pitch raise first. A pitch raise adds another 30 minutes or so. Either way, I'll give you a heads-up before I start. When the tuning is complete, I make sure everything is put back together properly before I pack up and head out.
Not a problem! Neglected pianos often need a pitch raise before the fine tuning, but I take care of both in one visit. The before & after is usually quite dramatic, so check out the video to hear for yourself! One small heads-up: on very old pianos with aged or rusty strings, a big pitch raise does carry a risk of a string breaking. I'll always assess the piano first and walk you through the options, and nothing happens without your say.
Just make sure I can access the piano, that it's been cleared of personal objects, and that the room isn't too noisy while I work. It's also helpful if the home's temperature remains consistent throughout the appointment — this helps the tuning stay stable. I bring all my own tools, including a blanket to rest the piano parts on while I work.
Yes! Chase Tunes Pianos LLC is fully licensed and insured.
Twice a year is the sweet spot: spring and fall, when humidity swings mess with the soundboard the most. Especially in a climate like ours in south Louisiana. Heavy players might want every 3–4 months. Either way, once you hear how good it sounds after a tuning, you'll want to keep it that way.
I accept cash, check (made out to Chase Tunes Pianos LLC), credit card, and online payments through Venmo.
Metairie, Kenner, and nearby New Orleans neighborhoods are available both weekday evenings and weekends. All of New Orleans, the West Bank, Mandeville, Covington, Houma, and Thibodaux are weekends only. Not sure if you're in range? Just shoot me a message and I'll let you know. Note: weekend slots are currently full through July 31 — if you're in an outer area, the next available slot will be after the free offer ends.
